View From True North Wins 2019 High Plains Book Award

(sarahenningpoet.com) Sara Henning’s award-winning collection, View from True North, earned a post-publication award, as it won the 2019 High Plains Book Award for Poetry during the High Plains Book Festival in Billings, Montana.

According to the official press release, the High Plains Book Awards recognize regional authors and or literary works that examine and reflect life on the High Plains including the states of Montana, North and South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado and Kansas. The Canadian Provinces of Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan are also represented. Winners in each of the 12 categories are recognized at the annual High Plains Book Award Banquet.

View from True North previously co-won the 2017 Crab Orchard Series in Poetry Open Competition Award and was published by Southern Illinois University Press. The contest judge was Adrian Matejka.
